Staff Developer, Identity

Role Overview

As a Staff Developer on the Identity Platform team, you will help shape the architecture, evolution, and reliability of the core identity systems that power our products. This platform underpins authentication, authorization, session management, device trust, policy enforcement, and integrations with external identity providers. It is foundational to both consumer and enterprise offerings and central to our Extended Access Management strategy.

Your leadership will directly influence technical direction, ensuring alignment with company strategy while advancing modern identity capabilities and engineering excellence. You will partner closely with teams across the company to deliver identity systems that are secure, resilient, and built for the way people and AI agents work today.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve identity services that power secure access across all products.
• Architect scalable systems for authentication, authorization, federation, session management, and policy enforcement.
• Partner with technical leaders to build consensus and manage dependencies as part of delivering a technical vision.
• Write code with a focus on reliability, durability, and maintainability using Go.
• Drive best practices in coding, testing, deployment, and operational readiness.
• Mentor engineers at various stages of their careers and foster technical growth.
• Influence long-term platform strategy and align identity capabilities with broader company goals.
• Anticipate security risks and ensure compliance with modern standards and best practices.
• Improve the developer experience for teams building on identity services.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building resilient and reliable software systems.
• Deep expertise in Go programming.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in identity and access management (IAM).
• Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, and identity concepts including OAuth, OIDC, scoped access, and policy enforcement.
• Proven ability to lead identity strategy and mentor teams across functions.
• Demonstrated experience defining and executing technical roadmaps.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, system architecture, and product development within a cross-functional environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex technical challenges.
• Curiosity and a desire to stay current with evolving identity standards and emerging technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM, WebAuthn, FIDO2, or similar standards.
• Familiarity with enterprise identity, federation, or directory integrations.
• Experience building token services, policy engines, or high-scale authorization systems.
• Understanding of zero-trust architectures and device trust models.
• Demonstrated experience mitigating common vulnerabilities in authentication and authorization systems.
