Director, Product Management - Okta Privileged Access

at Okta

This role involves leading the strategy and execution of Privileged Access (OPA). As the overall owner of this key product area, you will serve as a "hands-on coach," navigating high-level strategic planning with executives while mentoring a team of Product Managers through complex feature delivery. You will bridge the gap between traditional enterprise security needs and the modern, ephemeral requirements of cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead & Mentor: Act as a player-coach for a high-performing team of PMs, responsible for their professional growth, roadmap clarity, and day-to-day execution.
  • Product Strategy: Define the multi-year vision for OPA, ensuring the product outpaces both legacy vault competitors and modern infrastructure-access startups.
  • Hands-on Execution: Directly contribute to product specs, technical architecture discussions, and customer-facing documentation.
  • Market Disruption: Identify opportunities to integrate PAM more deeply into the Identity platform, driving "Zero Standing Privileges" as a standard for customers.
  • Customer & Sales Partnership: Serve as the primary subject matter expert for PAM in high-stakes customer engagements and industry events.
  • Cross-functional Alignment: Work closely with Engineering, UX, and Product Marketing to ensure the product is technically robust and easy to adopt.

Requirements

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Deep experience in either "Traditional PAM" (e.g., CyberArk, BeyondTrust, Delinea) and/or "Modern Infrastructure" (e.g., HashiCorp, Teleport).
  • Leadership Track Record: 5+ years of experience managing Product Managers, with a proven ability to scale teams and foster a culture of technical excellence.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to dive into the technical details of SSH, RDP, Kubernetes, or Secrets Management.
  • Strategic Thinking: 10+ years of total PM experience in the Security or Identity space, with a history of shipping SaaS products at scale.
  • Communication: Ability to translate complex security concepts into a compelling narrative for both DevOps engineers and C-level executives.
  • Education: BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field; MBA is a plus.

Benefits & Compensation

In addition to a competitive base salary, we offer a comprehensive Total Rewards program including:

  • Equity (where applicable) and performance-based bonuses.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
